Katy O'Gorman Rhodebeck
New Hampshire artist Katy O'Gorman Rhodebeck has been passionate about visual arts for as long as she can remember. She earned a BFA from Notre Dame College in 1981 and went on to teach art in the public school system for over 40 years. Katy has had experience with many art forms and mediums, but she currently focuses primarily on printmaking and painting. Now retired, she is continuing to further explore various printmaking methods. Most recently, Katy has been producing works using reductive block printing or silk-screening processes. She typically either carves a single block or masks a single screen at least seven times to achieve that number of colors in a more painterly effect. Once the last color has been hand pulled, no additional prints of the same image can be produced. She intentionally keeps her editions small. The beauty of nature is often the inspiration for much of her work. Katy is an exhibiting member of both New Hampshire Art Association and Two Villages Art Society and has shown her work in other small venues in the Concord area.
