Clare Arentzen
Clare's work, lately paintings documenting the humor and humanity in New England's native flora and fauna, exists on the line between art and science. Her work is part artistic expression and part naturalistic recording. These two disciplines very much inform the way she sees the world, the art and ideas she produces, and the interests she pursues.
She holds a Certificate in Visual Arts from Princeton University along with an Ecology and Evolutionary Biology degree and has studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is also an avid outdoorswoman and tries to gain as much intimate knowledge of the landscapes around her, the things that grow there, and the unique rolls they play. To Clare, observation is an art form. Clare currently lives in New Hampshire, working as a hiking guide in the White Mountains. She's constantly playing outside, skiing, hiking, biking, and rock climbing, and making art once the sun goes down.
