Barbara Keiter
Artist’s Bio. Barbara Keiter
Barbara Keiter’s fascination with the creative process has taken many paths. The magic of inspiration and spontaneity is at the core of her artistic passion.
Barbara has a BFA from Syracuse, and now lives and creates in Georgetown, MA. She acquired technical skills from her fine art background, but later transitioned into many other art forms.
As a teacher, she successfully guided her students to experiment with different mediums. Finished artwork was combined to create collaborative set pieces, and as a set designer Barbara learned how to transform initial ideas into huge theatrical statements.
As an actor, director, set and costume designer Barbara makes a play come to life with all the variety and richness a piece requires. As a decorative painter she transforms a room or a piece of furniture into something unique and inviting.
As a clay artist, working in a private and intimate setting, she continues to find inspiration in the unknown. She flows with it, contains it, and creates beauty and function. Barbara particularly enjoys the spontaneity of hand building with clay.
