Phil enjoys the challenge of painting landscapes and seascapes outdoors with its ever-changing light and atmosphere. He paints in oils and watercolors whether it's in the studio or outdoors en plein air. His studio artworks are usually composed from several sources including his studies painted or sketched on location,his reference material and memorable places he has been.

He is currently a member of and has exhibited with the New Hampshire Art Association, Oil Painters of America and both the Alaska and New England Watercolor Societies. He is also a member of local art associations in Jaffrey, Nashua and Keene, New Hampshire.
