Ken Cohen
Ken Cohen, now based on Badgers Island in Kittery, Maine is a watercolorist. His main inspiration comes from the New England Seacoast and the interior of New England. He is primarily a realist. Ken’s work includes drawing, charcoal and pen and washes in addition to watercolor. As you look at Ken's artwork, the colorful influence of his coastal New England environment is readily apparent. The coastal colors and watery influences of maritime history and small urban scenes are the subject of many of his works. The technical aspects of Ken’s work become clearer when you understand he has a background in history and a love of architecture and boats. His realistic drawings and paintings capture not just the physical appearance of landscapes, ships and other structures, but also what makes each of them unique. Ken paints his world for everyone to enjoy, whether you are from the Seacoast or elsewhere.
