Craig Jaster (b.1959) is an American collage artist and jazz musician based in New Hampshire and Grosseto, Italy. In a process of playful, persistent experimentation, he uses scraps of advertising posters from the streets of Italian cities and other found papers, layering, cutting, tearing, removing, and embedding pieces into richly textured surfaces. His work is driven by curiosity and the importance of improvisation as it relates to composition.
