Deb Seavey
Deb’s passion for art started as a child when she spent time creating with her grandmother Elizabeth Seavey, an artist living in Cape Neddick, Maine. After earning an engineering degree from Cornell and working and living in Australia and Japan, she has returned to her roots here on the Seacoast. She has studied with several local artists including Pamela DuLong Williams, Dustan Knight and Wendy Turner.
The world is so much more than we normally perceive in our limited, habitual ways of looking. Through her art, Deb tries to expand her perception and see the freshness in every moment. Her work is influenced by her Buddhist practice and she hopes to support others’ spiritual practice through her art. She is inspired by these words from artist Robert Henri:”The end will be what it will be. The object is intense living, fulfillment; the great happiness in creation.”
