Debra Woodward
Debra Woodward has been a member of the NHAA since October 2012. She previously served on their Board of Directors. She is also an exhibiting gallery member of the Seacoast Artist Association in Exeter, NH, where she serves on their Board of Directors as Vice President and publicist and schedules their reception musicians. She has chaired several committees there, including the Body of Work program and student scholarships. She organized the retrospective of Exeter artist Bill Child’s work in 2024 and has instituted the new Pentimento scholarship for seniors 65+ that begins in 2025.
Debra has been a painting and drawing student of Adeline Goldminc-Tronzo in Eliot, Maine since March 2021. An avid photographer since childhood, Debra studied for six years with Robert Chiller of West Newbury, MA. She has had several photographs accepted into the Parfitt (now Lotte Jacobi) photography exhibitions. In 2017, her photograph “Escargot” won Honorable Mention. She began painting with Bob Richardson of Amesbury in 2017. She has since studied with Amy Brnger, Tom Glover, Sue Spellman, Colley Whisson, and Lisa Regopoulos. Debra’s oil paintings of Café Petronella and Mrs. Shapiro of Strawbery Banke (pictured) were accepted into the NHAA “Matter of Memory” exhibit at the Portsmouth Historical Society in 2024. Her Mrs. Shapiro painting then won third place in the annual SAA Members Awards Show that year. Debra has been accepted into several NHAA Lassonde and Joan L. Dunfey Juried Exhibitions. She also participated in juried shows at the Newburyport Art Association.
A NH native, Debra worked in the book business for 40 years, including seven as a buyer for Barnes and Noble in New York City. She lives in Seacoast NH with her husband of 37 years, Terry Dostie, and three fabulous felines, Maybeline, Kiké, and Jasper.
