Maryclare Heffernan

Maryclare arrived late to the creation of art; a surprise discovery that she says has offered the most treasured exploration of her life. She believes that art is how we bear witness to the moments we live and the visual stories we need to tell.

Her work in oils, watercolors, pencil, and ink captures whatever she finds beautiful from roiling seascapes to ripe pears, bird nests and tiny violets in the grass. She feels that what matters in this life is how we contribute to our world community so that we all become stronger, kinder, knit together in a more compassionate and generous way than we were before.
