Renee Giffroy

Renee spent her career in a wide variety of sales and marketing positions in the corporate world working for IBM before turning her full time attention to her long time passion of photography. She honed her skills at both the Maine Media Workshops+College and the Santa Fe Workshops, and her work has been accepted into over 45 juried exhibits. Renee has produced images for the Vermont Land Trust, the Alaska Raptor Center, and the Sitka Conservation Society. She is a juried exhibiting member of the New Hampshire Art Association (NHAA), Master Artist member of the Newburyport Art Association, member of the Seacoast Artist Association and member of the New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists.  Renee is also a former president and current Advisor to the Seacoast Camera Club and has served for 7 years as Board President of the New Hampshire Art Association.

It is the challenge and thrill of capturing a compelling image that excites Renee no matter the subject so her body of work includes a wide variety of subjects. Her most widely recognized portfolio is called Boatscapes, which are photographs of the many scratches and markings that can be found on boat hulls when the boats are in dry dock. To create these pieces she looks for places on the hulls where the markings from wear and tear produce interesting and colorful abstract images that resemble landscapes, thus creating works of art that often appear more like paintings than photographs. Two of Renee's newest portfolios include flower photography and abstract impressionistic images. Renee currently exhibits her work in venues throughout New England.
