The natural world is a boundless source of inspiration for me, as it inspires and energizes my creativity. The simple beauty in the landscape that surrounds me is the impetus for each new piece. Through my painting I strive to interpret the personal and emotional connection I feel in nature, which brings me joy as an artist and as an appreciative observer of the world. As a landscape artist I hope to evoke emotion in the viewer as they explore the use of light, color and atmosphere in my work. Sharing this vision is by far the best part of the process.

I am passionate about pastels and have been painting in this medium for nearly 10 years. Soft pastels infuse my work with immediacy and spontaneity. Unlike other mediums, painting with pastels involves no mixing on a palette, no cleaning of brushes, and minimal prep time. The pastel palette consists of the individual pastels selected for each composition. This efficiency allows me to dive into painting even when my studio time is limited.
